TRANSCRIPT:

It’s one of the reasons why we try to start all our meetings on time. I don’t know how you do it in your local church. I realize in the villages, some of them don’t have watches. Buses take a long time to come. You can miss out and you can be late. That’s okay.

But if we don’t make an effort to go to a meeting on time, something is wrong. We read in Luke 22 verse 14. Luke’s gospel chapter 22 verse 14, “that when the hour had come, there was a certain time Jesus fixed with His apostles saying, ‘I’ll meet you there.'”

And when that time came, they did not have to wait for Jesus to come. He was not a king who comes whenever he likes. No. That is senior pastors. They come when they like. Jesus was a Servant and He was there on time. I don’t know about the others, but He was there. But here it says the apostles also were there.

The Truthfulness of Time

So we should make every effort to start a meeting on time because we speak the truth. If you say a meeting is 9:30, that is the truth. But if you start the meeting at 10 o’clock, you’re not speaking the truth. You’re a liar. If you plan to start the meeting only at 10, why do you tell people you’re meeting at 9:30? Tell them we are meeting at 10. We must be truthful about the smallest things.

That does not mean everybody can be on time. You see, people travel long distances. Children may be having to go to the toilet last minute.
